Students gathered at City Cellars to celebrate the close of the semester with an evening of conversation, reflection, and community. The banquet provided an opportunity to recognize shared accomplishments, strengthen connections, and mark the end of a successful term together.

Sandra Johnson, the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Rice University, returns to campus for an RCEL-hosted fireside chat celebrating her career in engineering leadership and the launch of her book, Soft Power for the Journey, while inspiring students through mentorship, resilience and innovation.

This seminar explored the complexities of leading large-scale projects across diverse cultural and international contexts. Students engaged with insights on communication, leadership, and collaboration in global teams, gaining practical perspectives from real-world project environments. The session highlighted the skills needed to navigate complexity and lead effectively on a global stage.

Rice University’s Rice Center for Engineering Leadership launches the Summer Engineering Innovation Program, a 10-week interdisciplinary internship that connects graduate engineering students with industry and community partners to solve real-world challenges using emerging technologies like AI, cloud computing and automation.
